- If you are filing an Eviction Declaration, apply for rental assistance through the Rent & Utility Assistance and Emergency Services Portal – click on the yellow button above.
- If you are in eviction, apply to Legal Aid at (888) 534-1432.
- For Driver’s license reinstatement or criminal records issues, click on the yellow “apply for assistance” button and select “Self-Help Resources” under Legal Clinic.

The CDC issued a ban preventing your landlord from evicting you until 3.31.2021 for failing to pay rent.

Eligible Households can receive payment for their main or secondary heating source.
MVCAP may be able to assist with fuel tank placement and testing, and furnace repair.
- Households at or below 175% of the FPG (family of 4 – annual income below $45,850)
- In disconnect status or have a pending disconnection notice
- Need to establish new service -or-
- Need to pay to transfer new service -or-
- Have 25% or less of bulk fuel supply remaining -or-
- Household member who was diagnosed with COVID-19 in 2020 to help stay warm this winter

The Center for Disease Control issued a ban preventing your landlord from evicting you until March 31, 2021 for failing to pay rent. You must apply for assistance and submit an eviction prevention declaration to your landlord.

Instructions:
- Add your name, address, and your landlord’s name and email address to the Declaration document, sign, and the declaration.
- If you complete the document online or from your phone, type your signature using /s/ before your name.
Example: /s/ Tina Tenant - Make a copy of your signed declaration
- Email, send via U.S. Mail or hand-deliver this signed declaration to your Landlord in a way that allows you to get proof that the landlord received it.
- All adults who have signed your lease must provide a separate declaration.
Mortgage Assistance is available through
the Home Relief Grant Program.
The HomeOwnership Center of Greater Dayton is working with Miami Valley Community Action Partnership to help local homeowners who have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Mortgage Assistance Program helps homeowners to catch up on their mortgage and ultimately avoid foreclosure. Funds will be paid directly to the applicant’s mortgage company.
Qualified applicants must:
- Own a home (primary residence) in Montgomery, Greene, Darke, Preble, or Warren County.
- Have had a financial hardship due to COVID-19 that impacted their ability to pay their mortgage.
- Be behind on their mortgage, or in a forbearance agreement with their mortgage company, as of 4/1/2020 or later.
- Complete an application, provide required documentation, and discuss their circumstances with HomeOwnership Center staff.
- Have a household income below 200% of the federal poverty level

The drop boxes are safe and secure. They are located in the lobby at each location. Documents are retrieved each day.
